Benefits of Beef Liver

LIVER is a SUPERFOOD

Ounce for ounce, beef liver and organ meats are among the most nutrient dense foods in existence! 

Beef liver and organ meats have been gaining popularity in the health world. There’s good reason for it but definitely apprehension- organ meats are not part of our culture anymore, but historically, and presently in other parts of the world- they still are. Nose-to-tail eating is actually incredibly important for any meat eaters, as they are rich in glycine, which provides the antidote to too much methionine, that is needed when eating only muscle meats. 

In order for liver to be beneficial, it should come from happy and healthy cows…i.e. cows that graze on grass from rich and healthy soil and are untouched by antibiotics, pesticides, etc. 

The liver does not STORE toxins- it FILTERS toxins, and stores NUTRIENTS. It is one of the most nutrient dense foods in existence. It boosts metabolism, supports the immune system, improves digestion, boosts energy, maintains healthy blood sugar levels, supports healthy cholesterol and cardiovascular health and mostly is packed full of minerals and nutrients. 

In all honesty, I am still not keen on eating straight-up organ meats. I have incorporated them in ground beef, cooked in broth with the carcass, and my favorite- capsules!
