The Foundations of Health
Nutritional therapy is effective because food is powerful. What we feed ourselves isn’t just for taste, fullness, or even fuel. We feed every system and organ and cell in our bodies the raw materials they need to function. Food is the basis of everything! With that mindset, it's easy to see that what we eat affects everything! But- if our bodies are not in balance, we cannot always absorb, use, or convert those nutrients to be appropriately used. This is where the foundations come into play!
Blueberry Chocolate Chia aka “Cookies and Cream” Smoothie
This smoothie is packed full of nutrients with protein, fat, and fiber. It can successfully replace a meal and will lead to satisfaction until the next meal and provides plenty of energy so you will not feel hangry, tired, or drive your stress response up. And it is also SO tasty. I have been making it multiple times a week for months so I had to get this recipe out for you to try!
4 Reasons to Reduce Toxins In your personal Care products
Our skin will absorb everything we put on it, and our body will have to figure out what to do with it. Think of it like this- your body functions best when you fill it with whole foods, which contain the very raw materials our cells need to function. Filling your body with processed foods full of inflammatory oils, sugar, and synthetic ingredients provide no nutritional value, and even burden the body with figuring out how to process (or store) it all. What we put on our skin or breathe in our air is processed the same exact way. It can do so effectively and gracefully, or it can struggle with unknown ingredients.
5 Tips for saving time in the kitchen
Getting dinner on the table is one of the hardest parts of the day! I don’t know about you, but by dinner time I am exhausted from the day. It takes a lot of effort to decide what to eat, cook it, hope your little people actually eat it, and then clean it up! Trying to eat healthy meals on top of all that make it even more of a challenge. Here are 5 tips I try to implement to help ease the load, save time, and still make healthy, nutrient-dense meals for dinner.
Whole-Roasted Chicken
I started to cook whole chickens because you can get more bang for your buck! They cost less, so it's easier to afford quality protein (in this case, pasture-raised and organic). Additionally, they provide a lot of food for the week ahead. I also love having the shredded meat on hand to put on salads for lunches throughout the week.
